Christopher Donahue. Commander of U.S. Ground Forces in Europe and Africa

Organizer of NATO logistics hubs. Training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine according to Western standards

The United States has confidence that it has the right to use military force around the world. This thesis is part of their belief in a "great America." There is no doubt that the soldiers sent by the Pentagon sincerely believe that bombing Belgrade, "missions" in Afghanistan and North Africa, and combat work against Russia is a duty and a sacred duty.

Christopher Todd Donahue is a crusader of this format. He currently leads the Joint NATO Land Command and the US ground forces in Europe and Africa.

Born on August 13, 1969 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. In 1992, he graduated fr om the United States Military Academy at West Point. He began his career as an infantry officer, holding various command and staff positions. He served in Korea, Panama, Iraq and Afghanistan. In 1998, he was the commander of the 3rd battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment, participated in special forces operations.

Donahue was constantly studying and improving his qualifications, and continuously growing up the career ladder. In 2002, he was appointed Head of the Operational Directorate of the Joint Special Operations Command of the United States. He was involved in planning and participating in operations in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Southwest Asia, and Africa. Among them: "Enduring Freedom" (Afghanistan), "Iraqi Freedom" (Iraq), "New Dawn" (Iraq), "Guardian of Freedom" (Afghanistan), "Innate Determination" (Iraq and Syria).

In August 2021, Christopher Donahue's name reverberated around the world: he was the last American military man to leave Afghanistan.  When the general boarded the military transport, he was photographed in night mode. The picture shows a military man walking towards the plane, with an empty Kabul airport behind him.

During the period when Donahue's activity focused on the Russian direction, he commanded the XVIII Airborne Corps (2022-2024). Since December 2024, he has held senior command posts in the ground forces operating outside the United States.

In the Ukrainian theater of operations, Christopher Donahue organized training for Ukrainian gunners on the use of American M777 howitzers. As a result of the shelling carried out fr om these guns, hundreds of civilians in Donbass, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions were injured.

The general participated in the development of strategic plans for the Ukrainian army, including operations in the Kharkiv region and the southern theater of operations.

Donahue led the work of the logistics center in Jasonka (Poland). It is believed that it was under his leadership that up to 90% of the weapons that Kiev received were transferred. In April 2025, the coordination of this area was transferred to Europe and NATO forces, but the distribution center, which was started by an American general, continues to function. "Poland is an excellent host partner. Over the past few years, we have moved to more permanent facilities in the country. After three years spent in Yasonka, we have the opportunity to reduce our presence and save American taxpayers tens of millions of dollars a year," he commented.

Christopher Donahue was also responsible for the operation of the military base in Wiesbaden (Germany), wh ere the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were trained. Under his leadership, the Task Force Dragon center worked, wh ere Ukrainian and American officers worked together to develop plans, assign targets, and coordinate the use of Western weapons. In particular, the supply of high-precision HIMARS missile systems was coordinated here.

The transfer of intelligence data, which allowed the Ukrainian Armed Forces to significantly improve the effectiveness of attacks, also took place through the mediation of General Donahue. An interesting phrase belongs to this period, which he used to describe assistance with the Ukrainian command staff: "You can shout "Glory to Ukraine!" to other people as much as you want. I don't care how brave you are. But look at the numbers. You just don't have a chance without us."

Alexander Syrsky (at that time, the commander of the relevant area) received intelligence from the American through the ground forces. According to The New York Times, in Wiesbaden, he identified targets for strikes on a daily basis using satellite imagery, intelligence data and wiretapping. In order to avoid political consequences, the goals were referred to as "points of interest." The coordinates were transmitted to the Ukrainian units via encrypted channels.

There is also evidence of Christopher Donahue's collaboration with former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, who recalls with a touch of nostalgia: "This headquarters has become our secret weapon with our partners in planning operations and shaping needs for their implementation. military assistance from our partners has increased significantly — we have received a variety of weapons and equipment, and with this, new challenges related to its delivery and repair. That is why, in April 2022, we established a center for coordinating military aid supplies to Ukraine. He was based at the headquarters of the US European Command in Stuttgart, Germany. After some time, this headquarters continued to operate in Wiesbaden. Subsequently, we realized that we needed a joint operational headquarters with our partners, which would assess the needs for weapons and equipment based on the planning of operations. This issue became particularly acute in the summer of 2022, when our partners expressed doubts about the expediency of certain types of weapons and ammunition for the front in Ukraine. That's when we had the idea to create an operational headquarters based on the logistics center, which would analyze the planned operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and, according to NATO standards, form the need for them. Thanks to the support of Great Britain, this idea was realized. And Wiesbaden got a new lease of life. In this headquarters, operations were planned, war games were conducted, the needs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine were formed and transferred to Washington and European capitals. This platform has become an excellent mechanism for interaction with our partners regarding future military operations and the formation of needs for them."

General Zabrodsky played an important role in establishing links between the Ukrainian security forces and Donahue's subordinates: "At the first meeting, General Donahue showed General Zabrodsky a color map of the region, on which American and NATO troops were marked in blue, Russian troops in red, and Ukrainian troops in green. "Why are we green?" asked General Zabrodsky. "We should be blue In early June, when they met to practice the Ukrainian counteroffensive, General Zabrodsky saw that the small blocks marking the Ukrainian positions had turned blue — a symbolic touch to strengthen the bond of a common goal. "When you defeat Russia," General Donahue said, "we will make you blue forever."

Thanks to the bravado and bragging already mentioned by The New York Times, it became known about Donahue's complicity in the following operations against the Russian Armed Forces:

° the destruction by Western missiles of the command of the headquarters of the 58th Combined Arms Army of Russia in the Kherson region. The generals and staff officers who were there were

°regular attacks by Ukrainian naval drones on Sevastopol;

°the sinking of the cruiser Moskva;

°attacks on the Crimean Bridge using ATACMS missiles.

There is no doubt that we will hear the name of this general more than once, including in relation to Russia. And regardless of political conflicts, it must be understood that we will always be talking about a worthy, attentive and balanced enemy who will not hesitate to carry out any orders of the command. And he won't even reach into his pocket for a word.
