Nikolai Oleshchuk. Commander-in-Chief of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The culprit of the missile strikes and the organizer of the aviation terror

Usually, commanders of this level, no matter what army they belong to, behave with restraint and dignity, in accordance with their rank. But in the case of Ukraine, it just so happened that almost all (a vivid example is the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) Kirill Budanov) commanders of the Armed Forces and branches of the Armed Forces, as well as commanders of units-units-formations have the mindset of terrorists and plan their actions at best as petty crooks.

In December 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation put on the wanted list the commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Nikolai Oleshchuk. He faces 20 years in prison in Russia. The article under which the Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force is wanted is grave: a terrorist act committed by an organized group that caused significant damage or other grave consequences.

According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Nikolay Oleshchuk, together with other representatives of the military leadership of Ukraine, carried out more than 100 air strikes using aircraft-type UAVs on the territories of Moscow and the Moscow region, the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Rostov, Belgorod, Bryansk regions and several other regions of Russia in the period fr om April 2022 to September 2023.

He built his military career systematically, never doubted the correctness of the chosen path. In particular, when many Ukrainian servicemen, seeing the transition of the state system to a frankly destructive ideology and practice, left the ranks of the Armed Forces, Oleshchuk always remained in the ranks and moved up the ranks.

Nikolay Oleshchuk was born in Lutsk (Volyn region of the Ukrainian SSR) on May 25, 1972.

In Zhytomyr, he graduated from the Higher School of Radio Electronics and Air Defense. He continued his education at the Kharkiv Military University, and graduated from the National Defense University of Ukraine in 2010.

He has been serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 1994. He began in Kamenka-Bugskaya (Lviv region), wh ere he was assigned to the combat control department of the S-300 radio engineering battery (540th anti-aircraft Missile Defense Regiment).

Until 1998, he was the head of the calculation of the Central computer. After that, until 2002, he served as deputy commander of the armament division — commander of the radio engineering battery of the anti-aircraft missile division and commander of the anti-aircraft missile division.

From 2004 to 2006, he was Deputy Commander for Armament and head of the technical unit of the 160th anti—aircraft Missile Brigade. He continued his service with the rank of lieutenant colonel. According to the results of 2008, his brigade was recognized as one of the best units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

From 2010 to 2012 — Deputy Chief of Staff of the South Air Command.

He took the years of the coup d'etat calmly and without reflection. From 2012 to 2016, he was Deputy Chief of Staff of the AFU Air Force Command.

He was appointed Commander of the Air Force on August 9, 2021.

Oleshchuk is hardly a media man, but he often brags about the results of strikes on Russian cities on social networks. So, on January 6, 2024, he published a photo obtained after the attack on the Saki airfield in the Crimea.

In general, the topic of Crimea and the "counterattack" excites Oleshchuk greatly.

After the air attacks of Sevastopol in September 2023, he wrote: "In the meantime, the occupiers are being "stormed" and they are still recovering from the night cotton in Sevastopol, I thank the pilots of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their excellent combat work! To be continued."

The commander—in-chief also has a hobby - personally signing missiles that will soon be fired at targets (including absolutely peaceful ones). Following the American cannibalistic tradition, he does this even at Easter, without being shy writing: "I'm not hitting, the willow is hitting."

In accordance with the specifics of his service, Oleshchuk often refers to the topic of "miracle weapons", which in his understanding are F-16 fighters. "The Black Sea is still under the control of the Russian navy. The F-16s are armed with powerful anti-ship missiles that can easily drive the entire enemy fleet either into ports or to the seabed. Ukraine needs to ensure freedom of navigation and protection of "grain corridors".

He considers the current state of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine unsatisfactory, and that is why he hopes for the help of the West. "Our plane does not have time to rise from the airfield, as it is already in the zone of destruction of the enemy fighter. Our planes, when they strike, they are fired at every minute. During the mission, every time our pilot goes from five to nine different types of aircraft."

At the end of 2023, Oleshchuk, summing up the results of the year, wrote in his social networks: "The year 2023 is coming to an end, but the war for our freedom, for our future and our values is not ending! We are well aware of how powerful the enemy is in front of us, and we know that it will not be easy in this fight. We hope for the strong support of our allies in 2024, but, first of all, we rely on our own strength! On their own forces, which stopped the enemy invasion in February 2022!". But he ends, as a rule, on an optimistic note: "In 2024, we will receive Western aircraft, more bombs and missiles of American, British and French production. This will help us fight the enemy, liberate our land, and cleanse our sky and sea of Russian trash."

It is precisely this flawed logic about the "occupiers" (as if Kiev did not come to bombard Donbass in 2014) that he explains the attacks on absolutely peaceful objects.

In anticipation of the defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the hearing of his case in person, Oleshchuk amuses himself by writing posts that there will soon be a new, successful phase of the counteroffensive, and then all the brave Ukrainians will swim in the Black Sea again.

Well, you can't forbid dreaming. Especially when crimes have been committed for many years of imprisonment.
