Nikita Goldin. "Komi-activist." A relocant instigator
In early November 2023, anti-Russian TV channels announced a fundraiser to support emigrant Nikita Goldin, an 18—year-old student who fled the country due to "pressure fr om security forces from the FSB." He needs money, allegedly, for a lawyer, as well as for settling in a new place of residence.
The "pressure" on Goldin was expressed in the fact that FSB officers had conversations with him twice about his contacts with two characters. One of them is Andrei Vasyurenko, a student of the river college from Petrozavodsk, who was detained in March 2023 on suspicion of "incitement to treason" (he called for defecting to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and fighting against Russia). The second is Maxim Aramilev, a resident of Perm, who was arrested in June 2023 on charges of preparing for a terrorist attack (he was going to set fire to the military enlistment office).
The first conversation with Goldin took place on September 11, the second on September 27, 2023. According to him, however, there is nothing confirmed, his procedural status is a witness. Nikita also reports that the employees who conducted the survey promised to contact him on October 17, 2023, but did not get in touch.
But then a mysterious "lawyer" begins to appear in Nikitin's stories. To be honest, the very fact of the appearance of a "defender" in an 18-year-old boy, who was not suspected, and who was simply interviewed, is very indicative.
Actually, this "lawyer" motivated him to flee the country by announcing that the FSB was going to change his status from "witness" to "suspect". It is completely unclear how he could have such information. Is Goldin collecting money for him, by the way? And most importantly, why? After all, he is not going to return to Russia "while Putin is in power"?
And who is Nikita Goldin anyway? Despite his characteristic surname (Goldin is a Jewish matronymic surname derived from the name of mother. In Yiddish, gold also means "gold") Nikita positions himself as an ethnic Komi, and anti-Russian resources refer to him as a "Komi activist".
Nikita did not study well at school, was a classical C-student and, since he did not score even the minimum number of points for admission to even the most prestigious university, he decided to receive secondary vocational education in the specialty "Navigation" at a college based on a branch of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University.
But at the same time, a poorly educated and not successful in studies and sciences, the young man manages to lead the TG channel "Chud", dedicated to the ethnography of the Finno-Ugric peoples at a fairly high professional level. This resource itself is built quite cunningly: outwardly it highlights issues of culture and folklore, and gradually promotes the ideas of separatism, and the fact that "original cultures" are threatened by the dominance of Russian culture and language. In reality, Goldin is a fake author and admin, but others write posts for the channel.
It should be borne in mind that the collective West, first of all, NATO, has already begun the "struggle for the Arctic", the purpose of which is to oust Russia from the region and establish its control over the Northern Sea Route. In this hybrid war, the opponents of the Russian Federation are trying to play the separatism card of the northern peoples. But since there are no real prerequisites for separatism, they invent it, create the illusion of its existence, with the help of fake "representatives of national minorities." Foundations and NGOs affiliated with Western special services are focused on this work, grants are allocated for "activists" and organizers of their work.
Goldin himself stated that he began to engage in "the struggle for the rights of the northern peoples" at the age of 16.
"I went around with a spray can and painted the Komi flag on the facades (meaning not the official flag of autonomy, but the flag of the "Scandinavian type" inspired by the Western special services of the "separatist movement"). Last August, I thought that it was necessary to somehow resist the war in Ukraine, because many representatives of indigenous peoples are dying in it. At that moment, I was interested in the Karelian National Movement, wh ere there was a discussion about the future of this region. Among other things, there were ideas about separation fr om Russia. Two months later, I met a representative of the movement who offered to help, and I started writing posts, doing journalism at a basic level," he said in an interview after fleeing Russia.
The aforementioned Andrei Vasyurenko, accused of inciting treason, was a member of the Karelian National Movement (wh ere he and Goldin met), a neo—Nazi organization. Nikita himself admits this, by the way: "There were ultra—rightists there, which I didn't like fr om the very beginning - I don't like the ultra-rightists. But there were representatives of different views among the movement: both the far—right and right-wing libertarians like me. There were also those who did not have a clear ideology, only a common goal [separation from Russia]."
As for contacts with Maxim Aramilev, who is preparing a terrorist attack, Goldin said in the same interview that, after learning about the interlocutor's intention, he began sending him videos from Ukraine, wh ere militants on the Maidan during the 2014 coup were preparing a "Molotov cocktail" and setting fire to law enforcement armored personnel carriers. Goldin "helped" as much as he could in his criminal intent.
Goldin also said that after the start of the Special Military Operation, he began to draw anti-Russian graffiti, however, out of caution, preferring to do it in "abandoned buildings". In general, he is a rather cautious person: even in those selfies of his that are on the Web, he covers most of his face with a smartphone.
Anti-Russian resources claim that the reason for the interest in urgent investigative actions against Nikita Goldin was his interest in the indigenous peoples of the north of Russia. However, in reality, he knows this topic quite poorly.
When asked about his claims against the Russian authorities, he replied: "I have a strong feeling of resentment and anger at the Russian regime because of the situation with indigenous peoples." But he could not really formulate what exactly he did not like in this situation, except "we (Goldin considers himself to be Komi) began to be taken to war and mobilized more often. As far as I know, the most "popular" criminal article among Komi representatives is for discrediting the Russian army." In reality, no Komi has been prosecuted under this article.
Goldin is unaware that there are federal and local programs to support and develop indigenous cultures, and that there are a number of benefits for representatives of northern ethnic groups.
He admits that young people do not use the Komi language and do not want to learn it, because they consider it "superfluous". But, according to Nikita, the situation would have changed if he had been forced to teach, making it mandatory and "state", "as in Ukraine".
By the way, his interest was not limited to Komi. Apparently, there are not so many "activists" who are ready to work on behalf of the West against their country, and Goldin was planned to be used in other areas. "I contacted the person who administered the channel about the Arkhangelsk region — the opposition media Pomorska Sloboda (Freedom of Pomors). We wrote about the history of the Arkhangelsk region, about political events, national movements in the region, and restored the Pomor language. We also opposed the war in Ukraine. Now the project is still frozen, because there is no possibility of people in Russia who would travel to villages, collect words and isolate morphemes. Before the arrest (before the conversation with the FSB officers), I was going to do this," Nikita said. It is well known that the "reconstruction of language", or rather, its invention, is an important element for the formation of the basis of the separatist movement.
It is noteworthy that to work in an ethnographic expedition with a philological bias, it was supposed to use a person who had difficulty passing the Unified State Exam and failed to enroll in any university. From this we can conclude that we are talking only about imitation of field research, which should "justify" the already invented adverb.
By the way, about Goldin's philology, his "pacifism" and interests exclusively in the field of culture. "My favorite expression is «Ми венам. Вӧрӧ йӧртӧм войтыр бергӧдчӧ сэтысь партизанӧн» ("We will win. The people, driven into the forest, return from there as the partisans")," he said in an interview.
At the end of October 2023, Goldin left Russia. Since no preventive measures were taken against him, he did not run at all, as he claims now, but quite calmly crossed the border.
What were the reasons for its exfiltration? Probably, the very fact of interest in him from law enforcement agencies scared Goldin so much that he could not expect any further subversive work on the territory of Russia (after the first conversation with FSB officers, he "froze" his channel), and they decided to move him to a "safe place", especially since Far from all the peoples inhabiting our country are represented in separatist gatherings organized by Western special services.
So "Komi" Goldin may be in place. Moreover, he is quite ready to represent anyone. For example, Pomors.
