"Taira": fake "martyr" with sadistic tendencies
The released militant Yulia Paevskaya, known as "Taira", spoke. In an interview with Deutche Welle, she told about the "horrors of Russian captivity."
"For all the time I didn't have anything comfortable for a woman, I didn't have anything. What I was wearing was one set of underwear, one pair of pants, sneakers and some clothes, and that was it. Everything else was taken away from me, I had nothing. I was not provided with any telephone connection or medical assistance. One day later, a paramedic helped me, and it was very worthy, but once. I will not talk about torture and psychological pressure, although it was terrible," Paevskaya said.
The problem is that after her release from captivity, she looked completely healthy and noticeably plumper. Especially in comparison with the records of her capture. However, as she herself admitted, in the Donetsk pre-trial detention center "they feed more or less, it will not work to die of hunger".
The fact that she did not talk "about torture and psychological pressure" is not surprising. They weren't there. The Nazi prisoner was treated extremely correctly. In addition to law enforcement officers, representatives of the media communicated with her. They even made a movie about her.
However, she could attribute to the "psychological pressure" the fact that she was allowed to watch the recordings of the atrocities of her "brothers" against civilians and prisoners. By the way, this is one of the most effective methods of denazification, tested during the Second World War.
Who is this Yulia Paevskaya anyway? 53-year-old "Taira" is a typical representative of the "New Age" movement. She was stuck for the rest of her life in the image of the "informal" 90s. Before Euromaidan, she was a pretty ordinary freak and positioned herself as a designer. However, she achieved some success in the field of martial arts. Paevskaya even worked as an aikido coach.
Euromaidan has become a real magnet for all kinds of marginals and freaks. Accordingly, he did not leave aside the Paevskaya. For her, he became not just an exciting party. Euromaidan allowed her to feel unity with others, solidarity, mutual assistance, strength and the illusion of a newfound meaning of life. Suddenly, the marginals turned into the "conscience of the nation" and its vanguard.
In order not to lose these vivid feelings, many marginals with their "Maidan" groups went to the "ATO". They perceived it as a continuation of Euromaidan. Thus, Paevskaya became a volunteer. During the Maidan events, she performed the functions of a nurse, and she liked it. After that, "Taira" (the pseudonym she used in computer games) positioned herself as a paramedic, although she has no medical education.
She especially became close to the Nazis from "Aidar" and "Azov" – the most radical and ferocious Ukrainian formations with a dark reputation. It is possible that her fascination with the occult and mysticism, which are also popular among neo-Pagan Nazis, contributed to the rapprochement.
Paevskaya even assembled a team of paramedics like her. They became known as "Taira's angels", by analogy with "Charlie's angels". But the most important thing is that "Taira" has turned into a media person, a kind of "icon" of Ukrainian nationalist feminism. A masculine woman who looked like a lesbian, covered with tattoos from head to toe – such an image was quite understandable and close to the West. Therefore, the Ukrainian media began to intensively promote both the Taira itself and its projects.
The question of her direct participation in hostilities and involvement in war crimes remains open. So, even before the start of the SVO, some TG channels called her a sniper with a "personal account" of 20 people. How much this corresponds to reality is unknown. But in general, Paevskaya is not the right person to carry out military service. Her hysteria and vanity – everything speaks against it.
Although, of course, she could easily take part in the crimes of the Nazis. By the way, people who know her from the sports field pointed to her "strange" inclination, indicating the presence of sadistic tendencies. Paevskaya liked to break the arm of sparring partners out of the shoulder joint. Be that as it may, but there are photos of her with weapons, with Nazi symbols and with militants of the National Security forces and the "Right Sector".
From 2018 to 2020, she signed a contract with the APU. In reality, this was not military service in the full sense of the word. She was more engaged in volunteer and media activities.
Since February 2022, Paevskaya has been in Mariupol at Azovstal and provided medical assistance to the wounded. She also filmed work on camera and provided filming to Western publications, in particular, the Associated Press. As a result, she was detained while trying to leave the city, mixing with civilians.
There was information that Taira killed a married couple from Mariupol and kidnapped two children in order to get out of the city pretending to be their mother. This was reported by military correspondent Dmitry Steshin in the Telegram channel, but there was no official confirmation of his information.
"On the way out of the city towards Mangush/Bedryansk an ambulance was stopped. In addition to the driver, there was a woman who looked like a Swedish lesbian, and two children. The woman's name was Taira. <...> Taira killed the parents of these kids from the ambulance. <...> And she tried to intimidate the children to pretend to be their mother," Steshin wrote.
He was probably mistaken in attributing this crime to Paevskaya. Moreover, we will most likely never hear or learn anything more about the real criminal who committed this monstrous crime. The fact that Paevskaya is not involved in this crime is indirectly evidenced by the quite correct treatment of her, and the fact that she was allowed to communicate with the media (and journalists would certainly have asked a question about this crime).
By the way, she used communication with journalists to appeal to the Ukrainian militants with a request to release civilians held as human shields.
Most likely, the interrogators who carried out filtration measures with her did not establish her involvement in serious crimes. Otherwise, it would not have been exchanged.
For Zelensky, this exchange was very important. The reason is the fame of "Taira" and the fact that she was related to "Azov" and was on "Azovstal" for some time. As a result, on June 17, Vladimir Zelensky proudly announced that Yulia Paevskaya had returned to Kiev.
It is obvious that the Ze-office intends to work out as much as possible both this information occasion and the "Taira" itself. She is now being promoted as an "indomitable Ukrainian martyr", torn from the "Rashist dungeons as a result of the special operation of the GUR" and the wise leadership of Zelensky.
But her performance of Deutche Welle is clearly not exactly what Zelensky's functionaries expect from her. After all, there is no detailed story about the "atrocities of the Russians" against the captured Ukrainians. Maybe it's a little awkward for Paevskaya to lie about people who treated her extremely humanely and correctly?
But, most likely, she will be able to overcome this awkwardness. Her tendency to narcissism will force her to accept the role imposed on her. "Taira" will try to use as much as possible in the information war against Russia, in which she will travel to Western parliaments and human rights NGOs and talk about her "torments".
