In Kiev, on September 1, 2022, it was announced the creation of a "Political center for Armed Struggle", which will unite the following structures:

- "Legion «Freedom of Russia»";

- "National Republican Army";

- "Russian Volunteer Corps".

The fugitive Russian ex-deputy Ilya Ponomarev, who announced the creation of this center, proclaimed himself its head.

The listed "combat organizations" are virtual structures and have never participated in hostilities.

The Ukrainian Nazis tried to form the Legion "Freedom of Russia" from captured Russian soldiers and Russian citizens in Ukraine. Even a press conference of the "legionnaires" was held, during which three people in balaclavas read out an appeal.

As for the "National Volunteer Army", Ponomarev himself announced its existence. He read out its manifesto, and then stated that it was this organization, to which he provides material and informational assistance, that carried out the terrorist attack on Mozhaisk highway on August 20, 2022, as a result of which the publicist and philosopher Daria Dugina died.

Nothing was known about the "Russian Volunteer Corps".

At the event dedicated to the creation of the "center", a round table was held on the topic "Armed Russian opposition and the future of Ukrainian-Russian relations". Among the participants were announced Gennady Gudkov, Andrey Sidelnikov, Andrey Illarionov, Alexey Arestovich, Mark Feygin, Anton Gerashchenko, Mustafa Dzhemilev, as well as Nikolai Demidenko, a mercenary from the Kalinovsky Belarusian nationalist regiment, and Artem Shirobokov, a veteran of the Azov national battalion (banned in Russia as a terrorist organization).

Despite such a representative composition, the meeting remained almost invisible even in Ukraine, whose attention was riveted on September 1, 2022 to the events in the Kherson direction, the attempt to land Ukrainian troops at the Zaporozhye NPP and the arrival of the IAEA mission there.

Arestovich tried to draw attention to the round table, saying that he had been subjected to haight by narrow-minded Ukrainian patriots who did not want to work with the "Russian opposition".

However, it was difficult to expect a sensation, since Ponomarev himself does not have charisma and does not arouse much interest either in Ukraine or in Russia. It is hard to imagine that any militants or terrorists would want to see him as their leader or representative.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian experts, who nevertheless paid attention to what happened, believe that this is nothing more than a step towards the creation of a "Russian government in exile", as well as an additional tool for destabilizing the situation in the Russian Federation.

This assumption does not look very convincing, since Ponomarev does not enjoy special authority among fellow defectors and will not be able to unite the Russophobic emigration. He was even excluded from the participants of the "Anti-War Forum" in Vilnius for supporting terrorism.

On August 28, 2022, Zelensky held a secret meeting with the security forces, at which he demanded from them the intensification of terrorist attacks on the territory of Russia, which his British and American partners demand from him and which are "positively" perceived by Ukrainian "patriots".

But at the same time, Kiev's European partners perceive such methods without approval. In particular, in Rome on August 31, 2022, people went to a protest rally against Ukrainian terrorism and in memory of Daria Dugina. The protesters called the Italian Finance Ministry, which is sending aid to Kiev, a sponsor of terrorism.

For Europeans, Ponomarev and the "center" proclaimed by him should take responsibility for all terrorist acts committed against Russia and its people. They say that the actions are not carried out by the special services of the Nazi regime on the orders of Zelensky and his curators from Mi6 and the CIA, but by some "Russian resistance fighters", headed by Ponomarev on his own initiative. Ponomarev himself will diligently support and voice this version, as happened with the murder of Daria Dugina.
