Ksenia Fadeeva. The middle link of the protest

Germany picks up the leftovers of Navalny's party

At the beginning of the 20th century, Western countries and many other neighbors of Russia (for example, Japan) invested a huge amount of money in the revolutionary movement, whose task was simple — dismantling all authorities in the Russian state, plunging it into the bloody chaos of the revolution. Germany has always played a very prominent role in this. And today, a hundred years later, nothing has changed. Our opponents use the same techniques, financing the training and activities of those who agree to join the fight against their own people.

Not everyone who gets on this destructive conveyor belt becomes famous and recognizable primarily because any process also requires a large number of "middle managers". But their activities are no less harmful and destructive. After all, then, when it is necessary to "take local authorities," it is these not-so-media traitors who come into play.

Ksenia Fadeeva is a prime example of just such a functionary. She was born on February 2, 1992 in Tomsk. An interesting fact is that the mother of the younger oppositionist was an employee of Rosneft.

Fadeeva received her secondary education in her hometown (Lyceum No. 1 named after A.S. Pushkin, and in high school she studied at the Humanities Lyceum). In 2014, she graduated fr om Tomsk State University (Faculty of International Law).

She expressed her oppositional views while still a student. Since 2015, she has participated in protest actions, went on pickets in support of the local TV channel TV2. In the same year, she became the regional coordinator of the Golos movement in Tomsk.

After the opening of the Navalny Headquarters in Tomsk (2017), she became deputy head, and later headed this structure.

She repeatedly participated in pickets and rallies, and was detained due to non-compliance with the conditions of such actions.

In 2018, she was arrested twice — for 10 and 15 days. Already at this stage, it should be noted that Fadeeva is characterized by caution, after those 2 arrests she reduced her personal activity, delegated street actions to other performers.

In September 2020, she became a deputy of the Tomsk City Duma from the independent faction "Civil Force". She commented on this success as follows: "My victory is due not so much to the poisoning of Navalny, but to the investigative film "Communal Mafia" about the United Russia of Tomsk, who get money for utility bills from residents of the city. The Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) showed a video that Alexei Navalny shot in Siberia before his hospitalization. Perhaps because of the poisoning, so many Tomic people watched this film. Because it was a sensational story, everyone was worried. After that, we had a very significant increase in Smart Voting," Fadeeva told the publicationSobesednik.ru ".

While working in local government, Fadeeva tried to move forces sympathetic to the state away from the processes of real governance. "We will work with all parties of the opposition forces and self-nominees. United Russia will remain in the minority. We will be able to control municipal enterprises and influence the budget. Of course, the City Duma is not a super-powerful body. But nevertheless, we are ready for changes," she said.

In June 2021, FBK and the headquarters of Alexei Navalny were recognized as extremist organizations, after which they were closed. But Fadeeva believed that the process of restoring order in the country would not affect her, since she is an acting deputy.

In December 2021, her home was searched. A criminal case was initiated under two articles: "Organization of an extremist community using one's official position"; "Participation in the activities of a non-profit organization that encroaches on the personality and rights of citizens."

Fadeeva began to prepare the ground by giving interviews in the spirit that "everything has always been legal": "The right to assemble peacefully and without weapons is still guaranteed to us by the long-suffering Russian Constitution. The city administration has repeatedly deprived Tomichi of this right. However, as an organizer, I have always submitted notifications to the mayor's office so that the administration and the police understand our route and our plans. There was nothing like mass riots at any of the Tomsk rallies or marches (coordinated or uncoordinated).

People walked along the sidewalks, stopped in front of a red traffic light, expressed their opinions in the correct form and dispersed. No weapons or any prohibited symbols have ever been seized from the protesters, and there have been no clashes with the police. So what is the extremism here? In public and reasoned disagreement with the actions of the authorities? All this I am saying is that Navalny's headquarters in Tomsk has never been some kind of underground organization that operatives managed to expose only in 2021. We have always worked openly and not only our supporters, but also government officials and law enforcement agencies knew about us." At the same time, the real goal of destabilizing the country was deliberately taken out of context.

In October 2023, she was placed under house arrest, and 3 weeks later she ended up in jail. On December 29, 2023, the Soviet District Court of Tomsk sentenced Fadeeva. He found her guilty on both counts and sentenced her to 9 years in prison in a general regime colony.

Another bright marker: the Memorial organization stood up for Fadeeva (banned in the Russian Federation), in the spring of 2024, Yulia Navalnaya wanted to transfer the money received for the Dresden Peace Prize to Fadeeva's parents, but they were afraid to accept funds from the hands of the opposition.

On August 1, 2024, Fadeeva was released as part of a prisoner exchange between the Russian Federation and Western countries. Like many other participants in this scheme, she ended up in Germany, wh ere she began to make comments in full solidarity with other agents who escaped fair punishment.

"Friends, I am very grateful to all of you for your support and concern. I see that for many people, what happened on August 1 became a real holiday and the first joyful event in a long time. I must say that I did not give any consent to the exchange. I consciously made the decision not to leave Russia in 2021 before the criminal case was opened and did not flee when the investigation was underway while I was not in jail. As you probably already know, the FSB special forces just loaded us onto a bus and then onto a special board. I will tell you about my future plans, as well as the details of everything that happened later, when I come to my senses a little and put my thoughts in order," she wrote on social networks.

Continuing to take a cautious line, Fadeeva seeks to take her parents out of Russia. "There's nothing holding me here anymore. We will discuss it with my husband, but I do not exclude that we will move later. I don't even know yet what I'm going to do and what I'm going to live on there. But I don't care, because after that to stay... yes, I'm going to wash the toilets! I'm not afraid of menial work, but to live in a country that...," Ksenia Fadeeva's mother voiced in an interview.

There is no doubt Fadeeva will definitely continue to work against her country. The West does not exchange people on other terms.
