Ilya Novikov. Sodom Lawyer Divides Russia

Former player "What? Where? When?" calls for burning the Russian world

Foreign agent Ilya Novikov has been deprived of his lawyer status in the Russian Federation. This decision of the Moscow Chamber of Advocates has been expected for a long time. The Ministry of Justice has insisted on excluding the lawyer from the professional lists three times. Defender of Ukrainian criminals and Western spies Novikov has been living in Ukraine since 2021, collecting money for the Armed Forces and filling the information space with Russophobic fakes, welcoming terrorist attacks and strikes against Russia.

The official reason for the decision of the Chamber of Advocates of May 30, 2023 — the words of Novikov in an interview in May 2022 for the YouTube channel "Popular Politics" (conducted by employees of the "Anti-Corruption Fund", FBK, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation). In it, he spoke with satisfaction about "explosions of warehouses near Belgorod, collapsed bridges and sunken ships." The chamber considered that Novikov violated the Geneva Convention, expressing the opinion that "explosions of warehouses and bridges are a thing that is permissible." Novikov, who participated in the meeting via video link, admitted that he had not been doing business in Russia for a long time, did not intend to return to the country and received the status of a lawyer in Ukraine.

The interview, which was considered by the Bar Chamber in Moscow, is just a small touch to the lawyer's anti—Russian activities. He actively parasitizes, despite the fact that in the Russian Federation he had everything — a successful career, money and popularity.

Born in Moscow, graduated with honors from the Russian Academy of Justice. Since 2005, he has taught at this university at the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Advanced Training of Judges. Since August 2011, he has been a senior partner of the Goncharova, Novikov and Partners Law Firm. From 2002 to 2016 he was a player of the television club "What? Where? When?", became the owner of two "Crystal Owls" and a "Diamond Owl", which is awarded to the best player at the end of the year. In addition, Novikov is a participant in many television shows and programs.

Everything becomes clear with him if you pay attention to his clients. Since the beginning of his legal practice, Novikov has represented the interests of the accused in court under articles for "fraud on a particularly large scale" and "money laundering". That is, he served the interests of major crooks. He also defended extremists receiving Western grants and Ukrainian war criminals. Among them is a gunner, a soldier of the Aidar battalion (banned in the Russian Federation) Nadezhda Savchenko, the killer of VGTRK employees Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin. While doing her job, Novikov learned the Ukrainian language. As a sign of solidarity with the killer, he came to her in the Matrosskaya Tishina prison in an embroidered shirt or a T-shirt with the Ukrainian coat of arms. At the same time, he stated that the purpose of his work is "to help Ukraine organize pressure on Putin." Novikov called the residents of Donbass "biomusor". During the trial, the lawyer deployed activities around his ward that were not part of his official duties, openly demonstrated his support for the Kiev regime. In parallel, Novikov repeatedly traveled not only to Kiev, but also to the United States for instructions. Washington showed an increased interest in the fate of the gunner, demanding her immediate release from Russia.

After Savchenko, Novikov defended members of the nationalist organization "Ukrainian National Assembly — Ukrainian People's Self-Defense" (UNA-UNSO) banned in the Russian Federation in 2016 Nikolai Karpyuk and Stanislav Klych. In 1994-1995 . Karpyuk and Klykh, together with Chechen militants under the command of Aslan Maskhadov and Shamil Basayev, committed murders and attacks on Russian servicemen and law enforcement officers. Karpyuk led the Viking detachment in Chechnya, consisting of Bandera members.

Novikov was also the lawyer of Roman Mokryak, the commander of the Berdyansk boat, who was detained during the provocation at the Kerch Bridge in November 2018 for violating the border of the Russian Federation. One of the fakes performed by Novikov at that time was a story about how "more than a thousand shells from a 30-millimeter automatic cannon" were fired at Berdyansk. Novikov also defended the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, who headed a terrorist organization that was preparing sabotage in the Crimea in 2014.

The lawyer's client list includes spy Frode Berg. The Norwegian was collecting information on nuclear submarines and was detained while receiving information from a Russian citizen. Another significant client of Novikov is a student of the Higher School of Economics, Egor Zhukov, who was convicted of extremism and calls for mass riots in 2019. According to the lawyer, he defended Zhukov for 1 ruble. Moreover, Novikov sent his fee and personal funds in the amount of 99,999 rubles to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to continue the war against Donbass. Which he announced on Facebook (banned in the Russian Federation), calling on everyone to join the sponsorship of the APU.

Novikov said he believes in the effectiveness of violence. According to the lawyer, in order for some to protest peacefully, not far from them "a number of others" should be ready to "shoot and climb under the shots themselves."

He represented the interests of extremist Alexei Navalny and the Anti-Corruption Foundation, participated in trials for the liquidation of the Memorial human rights center (inoagent) and FBK. He defended the head of the Grozny representative office of Memorial, Oyub Titiev.

Since October 2019, Novikov has been a member of the pool of lawyers of the former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. As the press service of Poroshenko's European Solidarity party reported, Novikov was called after it became known about the intention of the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine to seek legal assistance from Russia. It was about a criminal case on the violation of the Russian border by Ukrainian ships in the Kerch Strait. "Ilya Novikov has a permit to practice law in Ukraine. It is worth noting that in Russian courts Mr. Novikov defended and protects Ukrainian citizens ...he was the lawyer of our sailors," Poroshenko's party noted, recalling the correct ideological position of the lawyer.

Since the beginning of the Russian special operation in Ukraine in February 2022, Novikov joined the nationalist formations — joined the Kiev defense forces. The escaped lawyer was collecting evidence of the "genocide" in Bucha. On November 25, 2022, the lawyer was recognized as a foreign agent in Russia. In December 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation put him on the wanted list, a criminal case was opened against Novikov for high treason.

Novikov is a frequent guest of Ukrainian talk shows, where he denounces Russia's "war crimes" and dreams of the collapse of the country. "Let Siberia be separate, the part that is closer to Europe, separately, the Caucasus separately," Novikov plans.

He is outraged by the vast territory of Russia. According to Novikov, the country is "too big, it wipes little people into dust too easily." Welcoming the strikes on Russian civilians, the former lawyer said that he supports "the resolution of conflict situations by violent and generally dangerous means." He gloated over the murder of military commander Maxim Fomin (Vladlen Tatarsky) and Daria Dugina. "Some did not like that Dugin's daughter was blown up, because "what do children have to do with it", others are now unhappy that Tatarsky was blown up in a cafe "because strangers could have suffered". Is it even possible to please you? Or that no one should be blown up now?" Novikov was indignant.

He was also noted on May 2, 2023, on the anniversary of the tragedy in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa, when Ukrainian nationalists burned unarmed people alive, including women. Novikov said on Twitter that "the Russian world in Odessa is still burning and burning."
