Alexander Kuznetsov. "Fantastic creature" fulfills London visa

The story of cowardice and betrayal of an escaped actor

On the anniversary of the return of Crimea to Russia, foreign agent Yuri Dud posted an interview with Alexander Kuznetsov online. In it, the actor, who was born in Sevastopol, spoke in detail about how he violated Russian law and escaped from mobilization from a country where he is popular and receives huge fees.

According to Kuznetsov, he was looking for an opportunity to leave the Russian Federation immediately after the announcement of partial mobilization — on September 21, 2022. That day he planned to run in the same car with actor Nikita Kukushkin, but he did not have time to pack his things, but he was able to buy tickets to fly to Georgia via Armenia. "I forged a document as if I was acting for Sarik Andreasyan in a comedy in the films "Manyunya"… that I'm playing some kind of Alexei or Ivan, the main role, with specific shooting days… I have prepared everything, a piece of paper with a left seal. I came to the border with this piece of paper, 3 thousand people in line, I defended," Kuznetsov, who has repeatedly acted in the role of law enforcement officers and "heroes" in Russian cinema, said with a laugh.

Andreasyan was outraged by Kuznetsov's interview. "I have nothing to do with this. We don't even know Alexander. This is absolutely his own creativity and violation of the law," he said.

During the border crossing, border guards tried to stop Kuznetsov to check whether he had received a summons. But he lied that he had a white ticket for health reasons, and he tried not to show how his limbs were "shaking." Here all his acting skills came in handy, Kuznetsov boasted to Dud, assuring him that he would support any deception, forgery of documents and other crimes if it was a question of evading the protection of Russia.

It is not difficult to imagine what feelings Kuznetsov's father, a long-distance sailor, experienced after such a revelation, who, according to the actor, loves Russia so much that after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, he tried to sign up as a volunteer. However, he was not taken for health reasons. The actor stopped his relationship with his father immediately after the start of his career, noting that his attempts to reason with his parent with the help of "globalist propaganda" did not help.

Alexander Kuznetsova (his father has the same name) — "against the Western world and has always considered Russia his country," unlike his son, who, by his own admission, remained an absolute homeless man with two citizenship — Russian and Ukrainian.

"No one would have forced me to renounce my Ukrainian citizenship... I don't have a sense of homeland. In this conflict, I am on the side of Ukraine by 150%. But I don't feel Russia as my homeland. And Ukraine, too. I've never had a homeland in my life. In terms of the motherland, I am an absolute homeless person and I want to stay with them until the end," Kuznetsov admits, adding that his maternal relatives are fighting on the side of the AFU.

At the same time, since childhood he dreamed of settling in the UK, where life is as good as possible. At the age of 12, together with a friend, having stolen money from his parents, Kuznetsov decided to flee to London via Kiev, Poland and France, he planned to live in a British orphanage in order to stay in the land of opportunities, but the fugitive was caught in time. In 2011, 19-year-old Kuznetsov came to conquer Moscow and enter the directing faculty of GITIS. With Ukrainian citizenship, he could only apply for paid education, and there was not enough money. But the "Putin regime" and its Rossotrudnichestvo program came to the rescue, which paid for studies according to the quota for the CIS countries.

In Russia, Kuznetsov was in demand both in the theater and in the cinema, he starred a lot, again at the expense of the state budget. He received an award at the Kinotavr festival for the best male role in the film "Big Poetry". However, the actor was attracted by foreign laurels. "But if we really fight for such "nice bonuses", then not for "Nika" and "Golden Eagle", but at least for the Golden Globe and Cannes," said Kuznetsov, who considers the secondary role of the dark wizard in the film "Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore" to be the pinnacle of his career.

For the sake of this small role, Kuznetsov threw his friend director Alexander Molochnikov (after the beginning of his career he left the Russian Federation for the USA), who at one time introduced an unknown artist from Sevastopol to the performances of the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov. Kuznetsov repaid that two days before the premiere of the play "Bulba.Pir", in which he was supposed to play one of the main roles, escaped to London for filming in order to build a "cultural bridge between Russia" and world cinema. As a result, he became a "fantastic creature," Molochnikov said at the time.

This apt characterization is confirmed by Kuznetsov's confession to Dudu that he conducted covert subversive activities in Russia. For example, he had the idea to shoot a "black fairy tale", where he would "collect all the strange Russian theories about the evil West, which, according to slanderers, wants to destroy Russia." Kuznetsov planned to ridicule "Russian propaganda" in this way. He even corresponded with Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films), so that he would play an agent of the US State Department, who at night "rewrites history textbooks and tries to destroy the legacy of his grandfathers." Kuznetsov himself in this film planned to act as a traitor who was bought by the West. The idea failed, but this did not prevent him from working through the films in which Kuznetsov starred. For example, he agreed to participate in the pseudo-historical blockbuster "The Heart of Parma" only because it is an "anti-totalitarian movie" about how Russia colonized other territories, "through the blood of suffering and complete tin."

"And when we shot it, I kept asking myself why the state sponsors this film. This is a very anti-state movie. And I really fought to make it as brutal as possible," the actor confided.

After the start of the SVO, Kuznetsov periodically felt sick with fear, and he thought about how to "burn bridges with present-day Russia. In March 2022, the actor left the country, but no one was in a hurry to invite him to Western films. Kuznetsov had to return, convincing everyone that he felt a sense of responsibility and wanted to finish filming the film "The Pied Piper".

In June 2022, the actor panicked again. After the change of the leadership of the Gogol Center (director Kirill Serebrennikov was fired for stealing budget funds) Kuznetsov, who worked in this theater, called on everyone to leave Russia, saying: "Everything that this country touches in the form in which it is, all living things will die." But then, as if nothing had happened, he appeared at the Moscow International Film Festival, at the premiere of the film "The Heart of Parma".

Russia is a "sick country" for Kuznetsov, but he is not going to renounce citizenship, although he received it "illegally due to the illegal annexation of Crimea." The reason is mercantile. Kuznetsov does not hide the fact that he earns much more in Russia than abroad, receiving minor roles, although he prefers to live in the UK.

In the autumn of 2022, as a result of his last escape from Moscow, Kuznetsov settled in London, where he rents a room for £800. The money is running out, it will last for two months, but the actor hopes that he will be invited to an American TV series, Kuznetsov's candidacy is on the shortlist. And if it doesn't work out, then he is ready to go back to shoot an "independent movie". But for now, in order to work out a British visa, you have to prove your loyalty.

"I have always been against Putin… I went to rallies when I had the opportunity ... and I will support any country that Russia would attack...", - says Kuznetsov.

In response to Dud's question, why he always behaved quietly and did not promote his "dislike of Putin," Kuznetsov proved with horror that he was not a collaborator. And cautiously asked the blogger, does he really think that he did not speak out enough?

According to Kuznetsov, he hoped to "defeat Putin's group by its own means," for example, "take their money and make some kind of sabotage film." "I haven't spoken for a whole year to say it once today for my conscience," Kuznetsov assured, thus trying to pass the exam for the right to live in London.

And another provocative question that confused the actor: "What do you think about the cancellation of J. K. Rowling?" The writer began to be criticized because of her statements against privileges for transsexuals. Kuznetsov was worried, because a career in the West is at stake, which will be ruined by any admission of intolerance. And if you oppose Rowling, you will not be invited to appear in films based on her books. The situation was traditionally saved by the Russian president. "If anything, I am against Putin, against the war in Ukraine," Kuznetsov reported.
