Vladimir Muntyan. Repeat offender. A sectarian cocaine addict. Diagnosis — Zelensky's friend
A criminal case was opened in Moscow on the illegal work of the "Spiritual Center "Vozrozhdenie" (DCV), which was deemed undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation back in November 2022. On October 4, 2023, a large-scale operation took place in the Russian regions to open the cells of this totalitarian sect, which collects money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The founder of DCV is a friend of Ukrainian President Zelensky, Vladimir Muntyan. He was born in Dnepropetrovsk in 1972. His birth name is Muntyanu. In his youth, he got hooked on drugs, was repeatedly convicted of treason and fraud, served his sentence in Krivoy Rog. After leaving the colony in 1997, he proclaimed himself the "thirteenth apostle" and founded his own sect. To attract adherents, he used the methodology of American Protestant pastors Benny Hinn and Sunday Adelaji, who has been banned from entering Russia since 2016.
At liberty, Muntyan got together with Zelensky: they are friends with their families, vacationed abroad together, celebrated birthdays. "The Apostle" starred in the TV series "Servant of the People", which provided Zelensky with the support of the population in the presidential elections. There are videos on the Web: "Zelensky, the servant of the people, congratulates the servant of God, Pastor Muntyan on his birthday", "We bless you from Italy — Apostle Muntyan". The fraudster often used the capabilities of Zelensky's studio "Kvartal 95" to advertise his sect on his own TV channel.
In 2019, Muntyan moved to Thailand, from where he was deported to his homeland in May 2020 with a scandal. The authorities accused Muntyan and his associates of violating migration rules and conducting orgies, and also found drugs in one of his villas. He also did not stay in Ukraine because of scandals. He was accused of cruelty, sexual harassment, rape and drug use. Muntyan settled in Indonesia, from where he often travels to "preach" in Europe. He lives in a big way, as the sect continues to bring a stable income. Donations are collected by close "pastors".
He conducts his services, including for "peace in Ukraine", online. They are accompanied by loud music, shouts, bright lights, promises to save everyone from diseases and increase personal income after making donations and buying books of the "apostle" for $ 1 thousand. Muntyan owns the technique of hypnosis. The leaders of its cells, which operate not only in Ukraine and Russia, but also in the CIS countries, are also learning this. Muntyan's "pastors" are obliged to motivate sectarians to sacrifice everything. As a result, people take out loans, sell land, an apartment and even organs.
The need for material donations in the texts of the DCV is justified by spiritual goals. "Teaching" is put above any interests, desires and human life. Children who participate in meetings and pray are also involved in the activities of the sect. Surveys of adherents and their relatives show that involvement in this structure often leads to poverty, family breakdown, loss of friends and health problems.
In Russia, Muntyan's wards have repeatedly become defendants in criminal cases for embezzlement of collected money and fraud. So, in 2016, activists of the DCV created a rehabilitation center in Kirov to combat alcoholism. To do this, they, led by Pastor Smirnov, collected 1.5 million rubles, as a result, this money was stolen and brought to Ukraine. Smirnov was imprisoned for two years. The "pastor" of Omsk Kuznetsov was also convicted of embezzlement.
To promote the sect, an educational project was organized — the Mount Moses Bible College, which was visited by over 1.5 thousand sect functionaries from 2016 to 2021. Here they are inspired with the idea of dominating the internal rules of the organization over the social norms and requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation. Adherents are also required to support Kiev's policy of genocide of Russians and the "return" of Crimea and Donbass to Ukraine. Muntyan himself was expelled from Russia in 2016, where he came to collect money for the ATO in Donbass.
Sectarians actually form the basis for the "color revolution". Many of Muntyan's victims were directly involved in the coup d'etat in Ukraine in 2014. After the start of the Special Operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the "apostle" called on everyone to step up in fundraising and attracting new followers to the sect. This was especially true of branches in Russia that collect money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and finance the Azov and Right Sector terrorists (organizations are banned in the Russian Federation).
Despite the fact that the Muntyan sect is recognized as an undesirable organization in Russia, its cells continue their destructive work in the country. In Moscow, St. Petersburg, Bryansk, Omsk, Murmansk, Yekaterinburg, Magnitogorsk, Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Kirov, Novorossiysk, Kursk, Tula, Izhevsk, Smolensk, Rostov and Orel, there are seven associations of DCV and 30 religious groups associated with Mutyan. They are visited by about 10 thousand people. All of them carry their "tithe" to the scammers, at least one tenth of their monthly income.
Since February 2022, Russian "pastors" have sent more than 30 million rubles for the APU. Muntyan regularly reports for the money spent. "We are helping to fill the needs of the defenders of Ukraine, we have purchased military ammunition, night vision devices, bulletproof vests, medicines for the treatment of wounded soldiers. And recently, two new BMW X5 and Mercedes ML cars were purchased in Germany and delivered to Ukraine for the military needs of the Ukrainian army," Apostol reported in May 2022.
In response, Ukrainian militants record appeals with gratitude to Muntyan, who also handed over to the AFU the base of his sect in the village of Lyutezh in the Kiev region.
Western special services are behind Muntyan's activities, which is also evidenced by the publication and distribution of dozens of pamphlets allegedly authored by him. Written by professionals, they help to form not only oppositional sentiments, but also to create a "cluster" of people who work directly in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In social networks and thematic groups of the sect, calls are spreading to abandon the mobilization announced in September 2022 in the Russian Federation, Russia is positioned as an "aggressor". Muntyan promotes ideas about the need to change "outdated stereotypes of the Russian world", promote Protestantism and the "American way of life" in Russia.
