September 20, 2023 a military court in Moscow sentenced in absentia the deputy head of the Ukrainian TV channel ATR Aider Muzhdabaev to 6 years in prison for calls to terrorism. He was also deprived of the right to administer websites for four years.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation declared Muzhdabayev on the federal wanted list. Russian Facebook post (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia) with calls for the capture and holding of "Russian agents" abroad as hostages, their execution without trial and investigation was the reason.

In 2018, he proposed using the capture of Russian hostages to get out of prison the terrorist Sentsov, convicted of preparing a terrorist attack on Victory Day in Simferopol (later exchanged).
