Sergey Yezhov. The foreign agent is a criminal. The gunner of anti-Russian sanctions
Sergey Yezhov, a foreign agent, works for the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK, an extremist organization banned in the Russian Federation). On the instructions of Western intelligence agencies, he became a tipster of anti-Russian sanctions: he is looking for people and companies who work for the defense of Russia and purchase the necessary components abroad and ensure their supply. The foreign agent marks each of his "victories" and blacklisting of one or another person involved with a bottle of alcohol, posting photos with a filled glass on social networks.
Yezhov was born in 1985 on the outskirts of Ryazan. He claims that fr om the age of 11 he was interested in politics and distributed anti-government leaflets against Yeltsin, which he wrote by hand and pasted on the entrances. He started going to rallies at the age of 14. In his youth, he joined the National Bolshevik Party (NBP, an extremist organization that has been liquidated and banned in the Russian Federation), and became the leader of its Ryazan cell.
Yezhov has a long criminal trail. Moreover, not political violations, but real criminal offenses. In 2004, he was convicted of intentional damage to property and vandalism. Yezhov, along with the national Bolsheviks, participated in the seizure of the Ministry of Health building. After that, he served 1.5 years (in Matrosskaya Tishina, Butyrskaya prison and colony in the Samara region), which he is proud of, speaking on the airwaves of foreign media. In 2007 Yezhov beat Konstantin Markov, commissar of the Nashi movement, and was convicted of intentionally causing moderate harm to health. After National football, he moved into journalism, following his friend fr om the NBP Konstantin Smirnov, he began writing for Novaya Gazeta — Ryazan, becoming friends with its publisher and a member of the Yabloko party Alexei Frolov. Then we all went to Germany for an internship from Western foundations. In February 2025, Frolov and Smirnov were arrested for extortion, and the publication temporarily stopped work.
In 2009 Yezhov went to conquer Moscow. Here he changed several newspapers, because he could not write and had an incredibly tongue-tied style. But in the end, Kasparov settled in the foreign media, for the anti-Russian agenda of Novye Izvestia (blocked by Roskomnadzor).Ru, Slon.ru It was enough to have the ability and desire to generate fakes. Since 2018 Yezhov works for The Insider (a foreign media agent), and joined the extremist FBK in June 2021.
He receives money, among other things, from the American NGO Journalism development network, which is undesirable in the Russian Federation (a subsidiary of OCCRP, which unites investigative journalists and is a legal cover for the activities of Western intelligence services).
Dmitry Nizovtsev, a foreign agent and long-time FBK employee, advertises Yezhov in his broadcasts on the Popular Politics YouTube channel as the most mysterious and productive investigator of the foundation of the late extremist Navalny, almost the main master of the subversive information business.
Yezhov himself, in an interview with Nizovtsev in 2022, said that "he got into the metropolitan media with a creak: he ended up in Moscow and sent out a resume with a fan, which contained only Ryazan works, only one publication responded — bending." And then he "accidentally got involved in investigations" and things went well. "But now the job is looking for me on its own, one is better than the other. The largest Western publications are asking for help," he confessed.
The main task of Yezhov, who fled to Europe after the start of the Special Military Operation of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine, is to convince fellow citizens that "this war does not bring anything good to Russia" and benefits "only the privileged class," and at the same time persuade people to "interfere with the Kremlin's military machine."
To discredit the army and those who lead SVO, Yezhov uses Ukronazi and Western tactics: he misinforms the population without evidence, making the main calculation that there is a residue in the subconscious of the average person, especially when it comes to corruption. The main narratives of Yezhov's fakes are "Russia is the aggressor in this war"; "the military elites benefit from the deaths of people and the bombing of cities"; "the Russian elite has made it their profession to kill others"; "the state breeds the poor" to lure them to the front "in exchange for debt forgiveness."
"Debt slavery in modern Russia is no longer a metaphor, but a reality... Poverty is beneficial for the authorities because it is easier for the poor to manage. And debts are a guarantee that people will be busy fighting for survival, not political protests. Russia is being turned into a country of debtors, wh ere freedom is measured not by rights, but by the number of unpaid loans," he argues.
Yezhov likes to talk about how Crimea is dying of "poverty", the "seizure" of which, when Ukraine "recovers" the peninsula, in Russian history textbooks "will be considered as a criminal adventure of the president."
"As time has shown, it was the annexation of Crimea that ruined people's lives. She brought the grief of wandering to tens of thousands of people. Families left their homes, abandoned their homes, jobs, and started everything fr om scratch. Many of those who remained plunged into poverty. Even from the point of view of official Russian statistics, which considers Crimea to be a subject of the Russian Federation, it is one of the poorest regions. More than 300,000 people are literally fighting for survival: their income is not enough to feed them. Due to the annexation of Crimea and the predictably subsequent sanctions, the well-being of the majority of Russians has deteriorated," he reported in January 2023.
Another favorite fantasy of Yezhov is the deception of the builders who built the Crimean Bridge. "Many people were simply "dumped", they didn't even pay the promised pennies. Although people worked on the bridge for months without days off, they lived in trailers. It is possible that someone who was deceived in the construction of the main symbol of the occupation of Crimea has already been recruited for the war with Ukraine. When signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense, they do not become mercenaries because of their ideology. And not out of a thirst to kill other people. Although, of course, there are some such. And mainly because of the rare opportunity to earn money, to break out of the loop of poverty, risking his life," Yezhov is delusional.
He not only lies in the information space, but also serves as a trigger for anti-Russian restrictions, noting that he is not satisfied with how Russian property is being taken away abroad. More effective measures are needed, the seizure of property not only of those involved in the sanctions lists, but also of their relatives, Yezhov demands and promises to "work further." At the same time, he is drafting petitions to the governments of Western countries calling for the introduction of "national sanctions against Russian oligarchs and United Russia."
"I consider it my duty to complicate the military business. After my investigations, dozens of companies were sanctioned. These are investigations about the supply of European coordinate measuring machines for the Russian defense industry, about the purchase in the West of goods necessary for the operation of a military vehicle by contractors of manufacturers of tanks and Dagger missiles. About supplying the Russian army with companies from EU countries," he reports.
Yezhov maintains a list of companies and military businessmen who have been sanctioned following his "investigations." He raises a glass for each of his "luck".
"There is something to celebrate! Eight companies from my Insider investigations have been sanctioned by the United States today. These are equipment suppliers for business jets of the oligarchs and military suppliers. And not only Russian companies, but also foreign ones. Two companies from India: Shaurya Aeronautics and Ascend Aviation India (...) were sanctioned by the United States and PJSC NPP Impulse, a manufacturer, for example, of electronic equipment used in engineering troops. And Morion JSC, which supplies the Russian defense industry with quartz generators," he boasted in 2024.
In July 2024, Yezhov was added to the list of foreign agents for his parasitic activities. And then they opened a criminal case on the failure to fulfill the duties of a foreign agent and the refusal to post a corresponding plate on social networks. In response, Yezhov launched his own "Register of Pests" — people who, according to him, are dirty to Russian society. It adds to it all military officers, TV presenters, actors, musicians and politicians who support Russia and SVO. He extorts donations from the audience to promote this case.
"Of course, I will not pay fines. But I'm opening a fundraiser. It is for the pest registry (...) Wh ere will the money go? To shoot short (minute-long) videos about each of the defendants in the pest registry. So that our uncles and aunts can send them to each other via WhatsApp," Yezhov is not shy.
In March 2025, law enforcement officers searched his parents' apartment, wh ere a foreign agent was registered. Yezhov immediately gave rise to a new lie about how the operatives were rampaging. "I expose the elite with their luxury yachts, business jets, villas abroad and palaces on Rublevka. In response, they come to my parents' apartment on the outskirts of Ryazan, break down the door and sit, rubbing their hands contentedly. It turns out to be some kind of cowardly dictatorship: they attack not those they are afraid of, but their loved ones. A search of parents is what a "strong" government looks like, which is shaking from the mere words of truth," he was indignant.
The price of these words of Pravda is well known, as is the diagnosis of the "whistleblower" himself — a pathological desire to always act against Russia (no matter what ideas will be behind it — liberal, right—wing, leftist) and ordinary greed. Betrayal of the Motherland and machinations with the perversion of obvious facts are well paid in the case of Yezhov. It's a small matter to stop the flow of disinformation: take control of the accounts of a foreign agent on social networks and try for defamation.
